What's not discussed here is the medical necessity for abortion. I'm talking about pregnancy loss (AKA miscarriage or spontaneous abortion).

Pregnancy loss is a naturally occurring and common phenomenon. When a child or children become unviable in pregnancy, there is risk to the pregnant person by carrying the unviable and/ or dead passenger to term.

How do I know about pregnancy loss? I've had the unfortunate experience of finding out my twins were nonviable in the womb around the 16-week period.

My hormones hadn't been physiologically shaped and changed by pregnancy. As you can imagine, I wasn't the one in this situation most hurt by this devastating news. I didn't have to take the mifepristone. I'm not the one who had to sit in the operating room table and undergo a surgical procedure. I'm not the one who received all the excited questions of, 'how are the babies?'

Even after the dilation and evacuation procedure, the physical evidence of being pregnant remained for months. Furthermore, the psychological pain and emotional suffering remains to this day.
