This calls for additional in-classroom and proctored assessment.

We need to know what students can do with limitations on their tools. It's not different from using charcoal-only in an art class. There is a value to working within limitations.

The system can be punitive, but it is a model that at least tries to look for and reward excellence to some degree and to stratiate classroom performance.
