That's all wrong.

Marx called for the abolition of the family, as it specifically pertains to using women and children as instruments of production.

The writing was about how the domestic product of women specifically existed to enrich a man, as did the children. Marx believed that capital turned love and family inside out, instead replacing it with capital and private property.

How easy is it to get married? How hard is it to get divorced? This is a perfect example of how this system works.

Good luck on Thanksgiving, I wouldn't recommend bringing up Marx at the table unless you do some critical reading.
