Medium Pub Crawl Day 1— My Takeaways
2024 Edition?
Day 1 of the Medium Pub Crawl is now over. Day 2 has commenced. I was able to attend both speed networking sessions and connected with numerous new writers as well as seasoned ones. I’m exhausted and have a long commute ahead — I’ll keep it perfunctoryish.
Some attendees were new to the platform — others were new to writing. Some of the Pubs were small, others were larger conglomerations, co-ops, co-eds, whatever.
🍻 It was nice to put names to faces. I am a community person and this event was welcoming to all. People felt comfortable talking about their drag personas. People felt comfortable talking about their personal religion. People felt comfortable talking about how online platforms are challenging. This fits the mission and ethos that Tony Stubblebine and the Medium crew work to preserve.
🍻Writers can be shy — but many pushed aside those feelings to attend. They were supported by the attending editors and by other writers.
🍻 Robin Wilding 💎had at least 79,001 spoons on hand because she held some serious court in the New Writer’s Welcome booth. As a reward for her hard work, I granted her some rare praise for her home country of Canada. You know — telling her that Timbits are good, praising the…
