I never look at the minutes an article takes to read. We all read at different paces, and I'm not entirely certain if there is an algorithm that determines the length of the read.
My personal strategy is to write whatever I want for whatever length I deem fit. It seems to be working because people want to read and interact with my work. Most of all, I know it's not like a lot of copycat work you find here.
There are probably very specific topics that you are an expert in or that you would be interested in doing in-depth research into. Those topics tend to yield longer articles. This is just a really long way of saying, follow your heart, head, and hands. The best way to write is your way.
