Fibromyalgia is a challenging diagnosis because it is what we call a hidden or invisible ailment.
It's very easy for someone without such a diagnosis to think 'that person looks like they're doing just fine', but we never actually know what the sensory experiences of others are.
The truth is that we aren't actually burdens on others. We have built our society on the presumption of picture-perfect health, and it is the society that we have built that is irrational in the face of the reality of our physical forms that are perfectly imperfect.
