I recently hit 200 followers. I’m glad some of you are starting to finally get a clue. Good job. I’m proud of you and it’s about time.

Okay, seriously. I haven’t had the meteoric rise I pictured in my head when I first entered the writing game. A meteoric rise that should have included at least a few million dollars in NFT scams and some incredibly ugly merch.

I recently had to take some time to deal with some serious business and my writing volume dropped off of a cliff. Boss Tony doesn’t like it when you take breaks.

It’s still important to step away from the keyboard. I got to have some interesting experiences in meat space and embraced the opportunity to teach again. So I threw that job on top of my full time one. That’s right, someone put me in charge of helping to develop the intellectual, vocational, and academic careers of students.

On Teaching

Teaching people how to be successful college students has been an incredible and rewarding experience. I forgot how much I love teaching and how much I dislike grading.

Young adult students in my corner of the world experienced a dearth of academic learning opportunities and a lack of rigor during the height of the pandemic. We call that “learning loss” in the biz.
