A tool is only as good as the hand that wields it. For example, AI remains pathetic at using figurative language.

If a writer remains wholly anonymous, they might be able to pass their AI writing screening tools unchecked. However, if they've revealed select other details about themselves, a 'tell' will often appear.

One such example I came across was an article by someone who wrote up a milquetoast piece on Reno, NV. When I asked just one specific question about Reno, they weren't able to answer the question, citing that they didn't want to spend more time on the article. You would think they would have wanted to help a fellow traveler out! The inability to be more specific did more heavy lifting than any screening tool could.

The profile was deleted a few weeks later.
